The U.S. Embassy informs U.S. citizens that there is a march scheduled today, June 28, to celebrate LGBTI Pride Day. The march is expected to begin at 4:00 PM in front of the Colegio Teresiano on Masaya Highway and end at the Metrocentro Rotunda. Traffic disruption is expected, and you should consider avoiding this area.
Even activities intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should exercise caution in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
