Message for U.S. Citizens: Flooding in Managua

The U.S. Embassy cautions U.S. citizens of flooding in Managua near the area of the Stop and Go in Santo Domingo, in the El Gueguense Rotunda, near Plaza España, and likely other areas of the city due to recent heavy rains.  The Embassy’s Regional Security Office has advised Embassy personnel to avoid driving in these areas and to avoid any areas where there is high or standing water.

All U.S. citizens living in or traveling to the area should monitor local weather reports, follow directions from local officials, and take other appropriate actions as needed.
