Event: Media report increasing COVID cases in Nicaragua and hospitals strained to capacity. The Embassy urges U.S. citizens in Nicaragua to remain vigilant and follow public health guidelines to avoid risk of infection, including:
- Wear a mask.
- Stay six feet apart. Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.
- Wash your hands.
- Get vaccinated when it’s available to you.
- Stay home if you can.
The Government of Nicaragua is offering some opportunities for vaccination to residents of Nicaragua, including U.S. citizens, and will continue to prioritize individuals who are in appropriate age groups or at risk of serious illness. Proof of residency consists of your Nicaraguan cedula. For more information, contact local health authorities.
