Strengthening Youth Leadership in the Caribbean

Group photo21 students from the North Caribbean Autonomous Region – RACN graduated from a successful “Train the Trainers” program under the direction of the Nicaraguan Development Institute – INDE, Young Entrepreneurs Program, as part of the Educating for Peace Project implemented by IEEPP and funded by the U.S. Embassy in Managua.

The graduation ceremony was held at the University of the Autonomous Regions of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua – URACCAN in Bilwi on September 11, 2014. Graduate Kaniska Gómez, representing all graduates expressed gratitude to the Government of the United States for contributing to the personal development and strengthening youth leadership in the RACN. The event also included congratulatory remarks from the Coordinator of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy – INL, INDE and IEEPP Executive Directors, the Academic Secretary of URACCAN, and a student in representation of the forty at-risk youth that have been trained by the graduates.
