The AE E-Teacher Program is happy to announce four upcoming teacher training MOOCs, including two 5-week facilitated MOOCs and two self-paced MOOCs. Please see below for more information about Content-Based Instruction – facilitated by World Learning, Teaching English to Young Learners – facilitated by George Mason University, and Teaching Grammar Communicatively and Integrating Critical Thinking Skills– both self-paced courses developed by World Learning, Inc.
Self–paced MOOCs offer participants the opportunity to complete MOOCs on their own schedule. Suggested enrollment schedules can help organize MOOC camps or other cohorts, and help participants structure their learning. For each course below, two options are provided: seven 6-week enrollment periods (1 week of orientation and 5 weeks of MOOC content) and two 11-week enrollment periods (1 week of orientation and 2 weeks per MOOC content module).
*To enroll in a self-paced MOOC, visit https://www.aeeteacher.org/Self-paced_MOOCs or click HERE.
An enrollment link will be made available on the opening date of Period 1 of each course (See below).
Open from March 25, 2019 – June 17, 2019
Participants will explore how to adapt grammar instruction to meet the needs of students in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms.
Participants will explore a working definition of culture and tools for analyzing, understanding, and negotiating cultural differences.
Participants who complete all MOOC activities with a grade of 70% or higher will receive a digital badge and a certificate of participation. Badges are used by many educational and professional institutions. They are popular because they are portable and an engaging way to identify skills or knowledge gained from online learning. A digital badge displays as a picture, but also describes the name of the program, the name of the MOOC, requirements for completing the course, and knowledge and skills acquired in the process of earning the badge.
