Ambassador Dogu Closes Project for the Preservation of Ancient Petroglyphs

Ambassador Dogu and members of the Council of the Monimbó community’s “Alcaldía de Vara” closed out the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation Project that restored and inventoried petroglyphs in the Cailagua section of the city of Masaya.

The Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation funded the $65,000 project to restore and preserve a 164 feet long natural stone wall with 200 petroglyphs, part of a sacred sanctuary. The Ambassador remarked that “The preservation and protection of the cultural traditions are fundamental components of past, present and future societies.
